Applicant must be a high school senior at the time of application who is a United States citizen and is a resident of Kentucky enrolled in a Kentucky school. Applicant must be active in community service and/or school activities and/or employment and will be a full-time college student with a minimum 3.0 GPA or an ACT score of 25 or above. A 500-word essay about professional plans after college, two letters of recommendation with one being from a teacher and one from a professional outside of the school system must be submitted. Recipient must agree to live and work in Kentucky after graduation. Award is $2,000 per semester for up to eight semesters.

NTA Pat & Jim Host Undergraduate or Graduate Scholarship
Applicant must be a permanent resident of Kentucky who is a full-time student (accepted or enrolled) in an undergraduate or graduate degree program at any accredited four-year university in Kentucky with a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must be an undergraduate student enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism; or be a graduate student who is able to demonstrate a clear focus on and commitment to the tourism subject area. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: "Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e. work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals."
