The U.S. Military Academy is a public service academy. Founded in 1802, it adopted coeducation in 1976. Its 16,000-acre campus is located in West Point, on the Hudson River, 50 miles north of New York City.

  1. Aid to Native Americans

    Applicant must be an enrolled member of a New York State tribe and their children who are attending, or planning to attend a college in New York State and are New York State residents. There is no qualifying examination. Awards are available for two-, four- or five-year programs.

  2. Albert E. Wischmeyer Memorial Scholarship

    Applicant must be a resident of western New York State and must plan to attend a New York State college or university. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required.   3. Memorial Scholarship for Families of Deceased Police Officers, Firefighters, and Peace Officers

    Applicant must be the child or spouse of a New York police officer, firefighter, or peace officer and a New York resident attending a New York school at the start of the term for which payment is requested. Parent must have died as a result of injury sustained in the line of duty. Award is actual tuition cost or SUNY undergraduate tuition, whichever is less.

  4. New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence

    Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a New York resident, and the top graduating senior of a New York state high school (maximum award), or other academically gifted student (minimum award). Applicant must be enrolled in a New York college for at least 12 credits. Selection based on Regents exam scores. FAFSA and Express TAP application are required to be submitted.

  5. Regents Health Care Scholarship for Medicine and Dentistry

    Applicant must be a United States citizen, national, permanent resident, or selected refugee who is a legal resident of New York State for at least one year immediately preceding the effective date of the award; and must be enrolled in, or be a candidate for admission to, an approved medical or dental school in New York State. Priority is given to applicants in the following order: economically disadvantaged and a member of a minority group historically underrepresented in the professions (i.e., Black, Hispanic, Native American, or Alaskan Native); member of a minority group historically underrepresented in the professions; enrolled in or is a graduate of the following State-sponsored opportunity programs: Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK), or College Discovery.   6. Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship

    Applicant must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved degree-bearing program of study in New York State that leads to licensure in a particular profession.   7. Session Internship

    Applicant must be a junior or senior student matriculated in a college degree program. Applicants in any major are encouraged to apply. Stipend of $4,140 included.
