Academic Achievement Scholarship
Applicant must be academically strong. Award amount is per year.
Aid to Native Americans
Applicant must be an enrolled member of a New York State tribe and their children who are attending, or planning to attend a college in New York State and are New York State residents. There is no qualifying examination. Awards are available for two-, four- or five-year programs.
Albert E. Wischmeyer Memorial Scholarship
Applicant must be a resident of western New York State and must plan to attend a New York State college or university. A minimum 2.5 GPA is required. Alloy Education $10,000 Scholarship
Applicant must be entering college for the first time and be accepted as a full-time freshman for the fall term. All students who use one of the two response options described in Careers and Colleges magazine or one of the three response options described in Private Colleges & Universities magazines (website registration is one of the options for both) and meet the requirements are eligible. The scholarship drawing will be held in May of each year, and the check will be issued to the institution at which the winner will enroll. The scholarship will be honored only at participating colleges and universities. A list of eligible colleges/universities is available at careersandcolleges.com. You do not need to complete an application for this scholarship.
Memorial Scholarship for Families of Deceased Police Officers, Firefighters, and Peace Officers
Applicant must be the child or spouse of a New York police officer, firefighter, or peace officer and a New York resident attending a New York school at the start of the term for which payment is requested. Parent must have died as a result of injury sustained in the line of duty. Award is actual tuition cost or SUNY undergraduate tuition, whichever is less.
NTA New York Undergraduate Scholarship
Applicant must be a permanent resident of New York who is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the state of New York. Applicant must be entering the second year of a two-year school, or junior or senior year of undergraduate study in the fall of the calendar year of application. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism. A minimum of 30 credit hours must be completed for a two-year school; 60 credit hours for a four-year school by May in order to be eligible. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional from tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: "Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Please tell us about your academic and extracurricular activities and experiences, i.e., work, internships, etc., and how they tie into your present and future goals." New York State Scholarship for Academic Excellence
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen, a New York resident, and the top graduating senior of a New York state high school (maximum award), or other academically gifted student (minimum award). Applicant must be enrolled in a New York college for at least 12 credits. Selection based on Regents exam scores. FAFSA and Express TAP application are required to be submitted.
Presidential Scholarship
Applicant must be a full-time student with an exceptional academic record. Students are chosen through admittance to the university.
Presidential Transfer Scholarship
Private Colleges & Universities Community Service Scholarship For Multicultural Students
Applications are welcome from all eligible candidates. Application and essay about their community service involvement are required; the essay should not exceed 1,200 words. Transcript, and recommendations that will verify involvement in the community (other than family members) must also be submitted. Private Colleges & Universities magazine has established a scholarship administered by the Private Colleges & Universities Scholarship Foundation to help capable multicultural students finance their education at a private college or university.
Regents Health Care Scholarship for Medicine and Dentistry
Applicant must be a United States citizen, national, permanent resident, or selected refugee who is a legal resident of New York State for at least one year immediately preceding the effective date of the award; and must be enrolled in, or be a candidate for admission to, an approved medical or dental school in New York State. Priority is given to applicants in the following order: economically disadvantaged and a member of a minority group historically underrepresented in the professions (i.e., Black, Hispanic, Native American, or Alaskan Native); member of a minority group historically underrepresented in the professions; enrolled in or is a graduate of the following State-sponsored opportunity programs: Educational Opportunity Program (EOP), Higher Education Opportunity Program (HEOP), Search for Education, Elevation and Knowledge (SEEK), or College Discovery. Regents Professional Opportunity Scholarship
Applicant must be beginning or already enrolled in an approved degree-bearing program of study in New York State that leads to licensure in a particular profession.
