NTA New York Undergraduate Scholarship

Applicant must be a permanent resident of New York who is enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the state of New York. Applicant must be entering the second year of a two-year school, or junior or senior year of undergraduate study in the fall of the calendar year of application. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism. A minimum of 30 credit hours must be completed for a two-year school; 60 credit hours for a four-year school by May in order to be eligible. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional from tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: "Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Applicant must be a junior or senior student matriculated in a college degree program. Applicants in any major are encouraged to apply. Stipend of $4,140 included.

Spanish Alumni Scholarship

Applicant must be motivated and hard working and must have completed SPAN 301 and 302. Award is intended to provide an opportunity for a foreign language experience to help the recipient become more fluent.

Applicant must have risen to leadership posts within and outside the Student Association. Applicants applying for the $1,000 award must have a minimum 2.9 GPA. There are two awards of $1,000 and seven awards of $500.

William E. Derby Prize for the Best American History Research Paper

Applicant must have the best research paper as judged by the History department faculty.

Applicant must be a Tau Kappa Epsilon member who demonstrates academic achievement, campus and community involvement, and leadership in the chapter. Applicant must have a minimum 2.8 GPA and be in good standing with the fraternity.
