Millikin University is an independent, four-year university in Decatur, Ill. with approximately 2,400 students in traditional and non-traditional undergraduate and Masters degree programs. With programs in arts and sciences, business, fine arts and professional studies, Millikin's students not only learn through textbooks, but get hands-on experience through internships, consulting projects and one-on-one work with professors. AMVETS Post #100 Scholarship
Applicant must be a single Illinois resident attending school in Illinois who is the child of a veteran. ACT scores, transcripts, rank in class, and tax forms are required to be submitted.

Alloy Education $10,000 Scholarship
Applicant must be entering college for the first time and be accepted as a full-time freshman for the fall term. All students who use one of the two response options described in Careers and Colleges magazine or one of the three response options described in Private Colleges & Universities magazines (website registration is one of the options for both) and meet the requirements are eligible. The scholarship drawing will be held in May of each year, and the check will be issued to the institution at which the winner will enroll. The scholarship will be honored only at participating colleges and universities. A list of eligible colleges/universities is available at careersandcolleges.com. You do not need to complete an application for this scholarship.

Applicant must be the descendant of a police, fire, or correctional officer killed or disabled in the line of duty and attend an approved Illinois school.

Applicant must have a combined SAT score of 1200 (composite ACT score of 27) and rank in the top tenth of class. Selection based upon academic achievements, involvement in high school, and an interview/selection process.

Applicant must hold an Illinois College Savings Bond and attend an approved Illinois school.

Applicant must be an Illinois resident attending school in Illinois, be single, be the child of a veteran, and submit ACT scores, transcripts, rank in class, and tax forms.

Merit Recognition Scholarship
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen and a resident of Illinois who ranks in the top 5% of their class at the end of the seventh semester. Applicant must attend an approved Illinois post-secondary institution as an undergraduate on at least a part-time basis, comply with Selective Service (draft) registration requirements, and claim the award within one year of high school graduation.

Applications are welcome from all eligible candidates. Application and essay about their community service involvement are required; the essay should not exceed 1,200 words. Transcript, and recommendations that will verify involvement in the community (other than family members) must also be submitted. Private Colleges & Universities magazine has established a scholarship administered by the Private Colleges & Universities Scholarship Foundation to help capable multicultural students finance their education at a private college or university.
