    Applicant must fall into one of the following categories: have a passion and accomplishment in the area of sustainability, the local food movement/local food advocacy, promoting environmental awareness and/or environmentally friendly policies; be able to demonstrate extensive engagement, passion and participation in the local community (including but not limited to: volunteer work, service-learning activities/projects, neighborhood or community collaboration, political campaign work, and local and national mission trips); be able to demonstrate a passion and sustained commitment and accomplishments in the areas of intercultural understanding, international awareness/activism, and international policy and/or global issues; or have outstanding talent/accomplishments in an area of creative expression (vocal/instrumental music, theatre arts, photography, studio arts, creative writing, and/or film).

    Applicant must be a woman between the ages of 16 and 21 who is a Michigan resident attending or planning to attend a Michigan school and who is the daughter, granddaughter, or great-granddaughter of an American Legion Member or of someone who is eligible for American Legion membership. Selection is based upon transcripts, letters of recommendation, and financial need.

  6. Michigan Competitve Scholarship

    Applicant must file the FAFSA and score a 23 on the ACT. Award is based on financial need and merit. Tuition and fees only.

  7. Michigan Educational Opportunity Grant

    Applicant must be an undergraduate student who is enrolled on at least a part-time basis at a Michigan public community college or university.

  8. Michigan Scholarship

    Applicant must be a permanent resident of Michigan who is a full-time undergraduate student entering their junior or senior year of study at an accredited four-year college or university in the state of Michigan. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism.     Applicant must be a student at an independent non-profit degree-granting college or university in Michigan. Award is based upon financial need.

  10. Russ Griffith Memorial Scholarship

    Applicant must be currently attending an eligible Datatel client institution who has returned to school after an absence of five years or longer. Awarded to full or part-time, undergraduate and graduate students. Personal statement essay is also required that discusses the impact of being a returning student.

  11. Scholarship for Non-Traditional Students

    Applicant must be a Michigan resident who is the dependent of a veteran. Applicant must be a non-traditional student returning to higher education after an interruption, a degree-seeking student over age 22 attending college in Michigan for the first time, or a student over age 22 attending a Michigan vocational or trade school. Selection is based upon academic ability, character/leadership, initiative, and financial need. Transcripts or work history required.
