NTA Florida Undergraduate Scholarship
Applicant must be a permanent resident of Florida who is enrolled in an accredited two- or four-year college or university in the state of Florida and is entering the second year of a two-year school, or junior or senior year of undergraduate study in the fall of the calendar year of application. Applicant must have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in a tourism-specific program or area of focus, or a hospitality program with a focus on travel and tourism. A minimum of 30 credit hours must be completed for a two-year school; 60 credit hours for a four-year school by may in order to be eligible. Application, scanned copy of driver's license (or passport) as proof of permanent residency, resume, two letters of recommendation (from academic and professional tourism-related individuals), official transcript, and a scanned two-page original essay are required to be submitted. Required essay question: “Discuss what segment of the travel and tourism or hospitality industry your current program of study focuses on. What opportunities are you taking advantage of as you prepare for a career in the industry? Scholarships for Children and Spouses of Deceased or Disabled Veterans and Servicemembers
Applicant must be the dependent child or unremarried spouse of a Florida veteran or servicemember who died as a result of service-connected injuries, diseases, or disabilities sustained while on active duty or who have been certified by the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs as having service-connected 100% permanent and total disabilities. The veteran or servicemember must be a United States citizen or eligible non-citizen who was a Florida resident for one year immediately preceding time of death and who died as a result of a service-connected disability sustained while on active duty. Veteran/servicemember may also have been classified as a P.O.W. or M.I.A. by the Armed Forces of the United States or as a civilian personnel captured while servicing with the consent or authorization of the United States government during wartime service.
