Arcardia University (formerly Beaver College) is a liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Founded as the Beaver Female Seminary in 1853, it adopted coeducation in 1973. Its 55-acre campus is located in Glenside, 20 minutes from Philadelphia by train. The Castle, a campus landmark, is fashioned after a medieval English manor.

Achievement Award
Awarded to applicants for full-time admission who have demonstrated exceptional achievement in challenge program, essay contest, community service, leadership, portfolio review days, school activities, or a special talent.

Alloy Education $10,000 Scholarship
Applicant must be entering college for the first time and be accepted as a full-time freshman for the fall term. All students who use one of the two response options described in Careers and Colleges magazine or one of the three response options described in Private Colleges & Universities magazines (website registration is one of the options for both) and meet the requirements are eligible. The scholarship drawing will be held in May of each year, and the check will be issued to the institution at which the winner will enroll. The scholarship will be honored only at participating colleges and universities. A list of eligible colleges/universities is available at careersandcolleges.com. You do not need to complete an application for this scholarship.

Alumni Legacy Grant
Applicant must be the child, grandchild, or great grandchild of an alumnus/a, in the top quarter of their class, be classified as a dependent per federal regulations, and be enrolled full time as an undergraduate student.

American Legion - Pennsylvania Auxiliary Scholarship
Applicant must be the child of a veteran or of a deceased veteran and have financial need. Applicant must be a graduate of a Pennsylvania high school who is planning to attend a Pennsylvania institution.

Campus Achievement Award for Current Students
Applicant must be enrolled full time, demonstrate financial need and willingness to assume student loans, leadership abilities, and involvement in campus community and/or local community, have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and submit an application and two essays.

Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation Scholarship for Mature Women
Applicants must be female, age 25 or more, be enrolled at least half-time to earn a first bachelor's degree, have completed at least half the credits needed for the degree, demonstrate financial need, have a minimum cumulative 3.0 GPA, and submit an application and essay.

Distinguished Scholarship
Freshman applicants should rank in top thirty to top 5% of class and have a minimum combined SAT Reasoning score of 1575. Transfer applicants should have completed at least 30 credit hours and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Full-time enrollment is required. Selection is based upon academic criteria.

Joseph P. Gavenonis Scholarship
Applicant must attend a secondary school in Pennsylvania and be the child of a Pennsylvania American Legion Member who is in good standing, is deceased, or has been killed or is missing in action.

Landman Scholarship
Applicant must show academic excellence, outstanding leadership and community and volunteer service. Selection is based upon secondary school grades, class rank, SAT/ACT scores. Applicant must be a full-time student.

Leadership Award
Applicant must demonstrate leadership and involvement prior to entering the University. Applicant must be invited to participate in the Arcadia Leadership Program and attend all events.

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
Applicant must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa, be enrolled full time, have completed at least 30 credit hours, and have a minimum cumulative 3.5 GPA from all institutions combined. Additionally, course work must pertain to more than one academic discipline.

Applicant must be a student from one of the City of Philadelphia's 21 comprehensive high schools. Applicant must be nominated by high school officials on the basis of academic success and promise.

Private Colleges & Universities Community Service Scholarship For Multicultural Students
Applications are welcome from all eligible candidates. Application and essay about their community service involvement are required; the essay should not exceed 1,200 words. Transcript, and recommendations that will verify involvement in the community (other than family members) must also be submitted. Private Colleges & Universities magazine has established a scholarship administered by the Private Colleges & Universities Scholarship Foundation to help capable multicultural students finance their education at a private college or university.

Applicant must be a Pennsylvania resident who is a high school graduate with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be enrolled in an approved science or technology program at a Pennsylvania school, including community colleges, independent two-year colleges or private licensed schools offering approved programs. The goal of this program is to help address the critical need to educate and retain a workforce of highly trained technology experts that will help Pennsylvania attract and support new employers.
